VTC Foundation was formed in 2003 by some sixty patrons to support activities, enhance programs, and support children’s lessons. The founders were John Garofalo, Jack McFarland, Steve Busick, and Elise Menashe.


Patron support helped create VTC in 1975. The committee led by Dick Hannah, Ted Brown, and Joyce Kilpatrick worked with city officials to have the facility built. Two expansions of VTC were also championed in following years.


The lesson subsidy program for children 9-18 years of age was started in 2000 by Kevin Young, then Director of Tennis at VTC and Arlene Clark, USPTA. This tax exempt program was added to the VTC Foundation in 2003.
